Bolshok music - a ‘multicultural’ event in Chali village

A style of music found in Chali village, said to have originated with the Berta people of the Ethiopian foothills, was the bolshok.  A group of men play on bamboo flutes, accompanied by percussion on sticks.  Here we see some of the market village community, including Berta and Arabic speaking traders, enjoying this music - which was also widespread in the outlying hamlets.
